Overlanding

  • There are no roads to Nunavut.
    • However the Northwest Territories are working on an all-season 700-km highway northeast of Yellowknife toward Nunavut.
      • The Slave Geological Province Access Corridor would replace ice roads that are no longer reliable amid climate change.
  • While Nunavut comprises of about 20% of Canadian land, an estimated total of 850 km (530 mi) of roads and highways are spread across the territory.
  • About 4,000 vehicles are registered in the territory.
